The Role

As an Events Manager, you will be working on the Internal Marketing team and supporting the execution of all external events, both virtual and in-person, to generate new business and expand brand awareness. Reporting to the Senior Director of Events, you will aid in all aspects of event production to deliver smooth, memorable experiences for Wpromote clients, prospects, partners, and the community.

The anticipated annual salary for this role will range from $65,000 - $80,000, based on consideration of a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, education and certifications, competitive benchmarks, scope of responsibility, market dynamics, geographic location, and respective state’s salary threshold for exempt employees. The total compensation package for this role will include benefits (listed above) and an annual performance bonus.

You Will Be

  • Assisting in the seamless planning and execution of all events, both virtual and in-person, which include, but are not limited to: Wpromote Owned Events, Industry Events (Attendance, Speaking & Sponsorships), Partner Summits & Co-Hosted Events, Customer Engagement Experiences & Gifts, and Internal Wpromote Parties & Initiatives.
  • Bringing the Wpromote ethos and culture to life through events to make them memorable experiences (This may include: swag, marketing/promotion, activities, engagement tactics, thoughtful details, etc.).
  • Proposing new ideas to keep events fresh and innovative, while ensuring continual alignment with the evolving needs of the company and audience.
  • Researching new event opportunities for participation, sponsorship, speaking engagements, and hosting.
  • Researching, tracking, and project managing earned speaking opportunities and liaising with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Facilitating employee event attendance by managing registrations, coordinating travel, and ensuring all necessary preparations are in place.
  • Managing and collaborating with the marketing team on the creation of event promotional materials such as timelines, event landing pages, emails, social, videos, etc.
  • Preparing and packing event collateral, keeping the swag inventory organized, and fulfilling swag requests.
  • Communicating and coordinating with event vendors, partners, and organizers.
  • Researching speakers, event platforms, venues, activities, materials, event tools, software, equipment, and decor.
  • Creating and maintaining internal event resources and the external-facing events page on the Wpromote website.
  • Collecting event feedback, reconciling expenses, analyzing outcomes, and consolidating findings into event reports to measure and correlate success.
  • You Must Have

  • 3-4 years experience in corporate event planning, production and marketing.
  • The ability to manage swag, event collateral prep, and be on-site at local events (in greater Los Angeles). There will be some domestic travel for events for up to 5% of the time.
  • Effective organizational skills with strong attention to detail, creative flair, and an eye for design.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills with a high comfort level interacting with a wide range of individuals.
  • Drive and motivation to be a quick learner, self-starter, resourceful, and independent worker while also collaborative.
  • The ability to juggle simultaneous events and their moving parts while staying calm, comfortable with the unknown, and maintaining an upbeat attitude.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the drive to take initiative in identifying potential solutions.
  • Willingness to get your hands dirty - both physically and metaphorically. The behind-the-scenes of events are not as glamorous as the finished product!
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace products (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, & Calendar) and Microsoft Office products (Word & Excel).
  • Nice to Have

  • A degree in events, marketing, communications, or a related discipline.
  • Experience managing projects, tasks, and deliverables in Asana.
  • Knowledge of the ON24 virtual event platform and how to produce live events with it.
