As a Senior Staff Software Engineer at Ridgeline, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the future of the UI framework and platforms to build high-quality, complex, FinTech industry defining cloud applications. Our team of engineers are building from scratch using cutting edge technologies in a fast-moving, creative, progressive work environment. You’ll think outside the box and add your own genius, passion, and interests to the software development life cycle.

The Platform UI team is responsible for providing the underlying foundation for all of the UI built at Ridgeline. This spans from a comprehensive set of React-based components to a framework that establishes best practices for things like state management, performance, keyboard navigation, and more. The Platform UI team’s mission is to create leverage and enable product engineers to quickly build the experiences they need to deliver to our customers.

We are currently in the midst of redefining the core principles that drive a re-architecting of our UI stack and creating a v2 of our UI framework.

Do you enjoy:

  • Finding the right design patterns to use to build a sustainable framework that expedites delivery of product?
  • Code-pairing and enabling peer engineers to implement and deliver a cohesive UI framework?

What will you do?

  • Coach, mentor, and inspire engineers that are responsible for delivering high performing, secure enterprise applications
  • Oversee multiple projects across the team and jump in where needed to help solve hard problems, implement key pieces of our framework, and ensure the delivery of team goals
  • Contribute to the thought leadership, design, and implementation of our underlying UI framework in an Agile team collaborating on design, strategy, and engineering
  • Be involved in the entire software development life cycle, from requirements and design reviews to implementation and delivery
  • Think creatively, own problems, seek solutions, and communicate clearly every step of the way
  • Engage in a collaborative environment deeply rooted in learning, teaching, and transparency
  • Demonstrate a strong dedication to code quality, automation, and operational excellence

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • 12+ years in a software engineering position or similar function
  • Strong history of architecting and designing new products and technologies
  • Strong history of mentoring multiple peers and multi-task work across multiple projects
  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or related discipline
  • Demonstrated mastery of data structures, algorithms, and architectural patterns
  • Strong expertise in TypeScript, React, HTML, JavaScript, CSS
  • Willingness to learn about new technologies, while simultaneously developing expertise in a business domain/problem space
  • Ability to focus on short-term deliverables, while maintaining a big-picture perspective
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels and all audiences
  • Serious interest in having fun at work

Nice to haves:

  • Experience with investment or asset management applications
  • Experience building performant, enterprise level web experiences at scale
  • Node.js and Express
  • Understanding of building back-end infrastructure using AWS offerings such as Lambdas, S3, CDKTF
  • Docker-based container architecture
  • Experience with agile development methodologies
  • Background in design, economics, or finance

Compensation and Benefits

The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below.  In select locations (including, the San Francisco Bay Area, CA, and the New York City Metro Area), an alternate range may apply as specified below. 

The typical starting salary range for this role is: $200,000 to $232,500. The typical starting salary range for this role in the select locations listed above is: $205,000 to $247,500.

Final compensation amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amount listed above.
